This type specimen poster explores the classic typeface, Futura. The purpose of this exercise was to showcase the letterforms' unique characteristics. The typeface is derived from simple geometric forms which are low in contrast. To highlight this, the composition is quite angular, layering the typeface in various shades of blacks and grays, with only a splash of color. I was not concerned with keeping the typeface legible in all of the variations used, rather I focused on emphasizing the geometric grid and creating a multi-dimensional, textural entity.
