The North Chickamauga Creek Conservancy is a non-profit organization that works to preserve and conserve the local watershed and its dependent regions. I developed the mark focusing on the region's Native American heritage, centering the design around the symbol of the medicine man's eye. In Cherokee, the symbol represents wisdom and watchfulness, which are both found in the Conservancy's role with the land. With the sun's circle living outside the medicine man's eye, the mark also reflects the mountains around the Gorge. The circle is a vital part of Native American symbolism, representing the sun, moon, earth, and the cycle of life. The color palette is rustic, friendly, and easy to distinguish, but not overly saturated. It brings to mind the natural elements found within the watershed.
